More sous vide equipment should soon be available for the home chef.
Sur la Table has announced they will be carrying a line of sous vide equipment in their stores. Unfortunately it appears they will only be high end equipment, starting at around $1,000. It's too bad that they aren't entering the market with a lower price point but hopefully this will get more people talking about sous vide and increased demand always drives down prices.
The other sous vide equipment announced is the eiPOT by the Fresh Meals Solutions, the company behind the SousVideMagic temperature controller. Not much is known about it but it is supposed to retail for $400. It might be a very nice mid-level sous vide appliance.
